As a professional portrait photographer in Grand Cayman, for 9 years, I enjoy photographing families and kids in a way that combines natural personality expressions, beautiful light and thoughtful composition. Direction is subtle and warm, bringing out affection and lots of bonding moments.

Ultimately it’s up to my clients whether they want a more posed session or something that feels more candid and playful.

I want my clients to feel connected and have the most affectionate and meaningful moments with their children and the coastal sunrise and sunset skies lend itself to the slow moments and dreamy-soft colours that’s perfect for these precious days when children and your family are growing and changing so fast.

1. What to Wear for Your Session

Lightweight fabrics that allow easy movement often work beautifully for parents and children. For warmer temperatures, this may also work Fabrics that can move slightly with the sea breeze and that can indicate play when running, hugging and playing with kids on the beach can lend to some of the mood of the imagery.

My editing and our tropical environment lends itself to a variety and possibility in what colours you wear. Neutral tones; shades of tan, and white are popular choices. Colourful choices can also look great: mixes of blues, pinks, reds, yellows, salmon etc. Ultimately, you should wear something that makes you feel confident and comfortable.

2. I’ll Guide Posing And Natural Interactions Throughout the Photoshoot

I’d like to provide my clients with a mix of candid and playful, posed and attentive. This gives the best mix of both, seeing the interactive, fun and active side of your family but also providing you with a view of all the features of your children at they grow. Their eyes, the way their hair moves, the smiles and giggles that are special to this stage.

3. I’ll Help You Choose a Setting and Time That Suit Your Portraits

Location and lighting work together to shape your photographs. I’ll help you choose a suitable setting, if you don’t have a preference and advise on timing for that day.

Whether we’re photographing on Seven Mile Beach, among tropical greenery, or at another Grand Cayman location, we’ll make the most of what’s available in the setting from seascapes and greenery to rocky shorelines and beautiful skies.
